There will be a meeting after school at 2:30 in room 204 on Tuesday, August 26 for anyone interested in being on the Quiz Bowl team this year. If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Dearth. The meeting will last about 1 hour Study hall reassignment forms may be picked up in the high school office. They will need to be returned to the office no later than this Friday, August 29th. Students are not to go to their reassignment until they are notified on Monday, Sept. 1st. There will be a tailgate party for All Panther Fans on Friday, September 5th @ 5:30 PM, at the football field. Come on out for some free food and fun before the first home game of the season against LCC
The volleyball team is looking for student line judges for home games and someone to attend every game and keep scorebook this season. Anyone who is interested, please see Ms. Kunesh in room 103. TRY-OUTS for the musical "It's A Wonderful Life" will be held on
September 2 @ 4:00pm to 6:00pm September 3 @ 4:00pm to 6:00pm
Be prepared to read a passage of the script and to sing. Any questions see Mrs. Dobbelaere, Mrs. Crossland or Mrs. Smiley Orders for Spirit shirts will be taken from now until Sept. 12. Samples of these shirts are hanging in the display case in the commons and also in the case outside the art room.Short sleeved tees, long sleeved tees, crew sweatshirts, and hooded sweatshirts are available. Order blanks may be picked up in the high school office and then returned to the office with your money.
Any high school student interested in an after school tutoring job, please see Miss Schlatter in the Guidance Office as soon as possible.

Morning Announcements Wednesday August 27, 2008
The volleyball team battled the Defiance Bulldogs last night in their season opener. The Freshmen lost two close games both with a score of 22-25. The JV team fought hard to take the dogs to three games, losing a close game at the end. The Varsity went 5 games against the dogs, losing 15 to 11 in the final game. Morgan Hammon had 7 kills, 14/14 serving, 3 blocks, and 13 digs. Ashley Meyers had 8 kills, 17/18 on serve receive, and 9 digs. Kelsie Carnahan had 5 kills, 14/15 on serve receive, 2 aces, and 13 digs. Danielle Grindstaff had 7 kills and 9 digs. Thank you to all who came to support your lady Panthers. Paulding faces Fairview on Thursday away at 6:00. Presale tickets for Friday night's football game at Jefferson will be on sale during lunch on Thursday and Friday. Prices for the tickets are $4 for students and $5 for adults. All tickets at the gate are $6. There will be a Student Council meeting Thursday morning beginning at 7:00am. Please plan on attending, if unable, please contact Miss Rickenburg or Mrs Leach in the middle school.
Student Council is selling class T-Shirts for homecoming again this year. Each shirt will cost $11. Shirts are displayed in the commons area for each class. Staff will also be able to purchase shirts, staff shirts will be light grey. All order forms are due to the office by September 5th. Students should order forms in their English classes. Cross Country team competed at Wayne Trace last night. Finishing for the Boys were: Jared Detrick with a time of 19:42 and placing 32, Ian Munger with a time of 22:28 placing 63, Brian Porter with a time of 24:26 placing 70, James Hayner with a time of 24:37, and Jarrett Carr with a time of 26:03 placing 74. And for girls Eve Kohart and Jaclyn Carr both ran a time of 27:40 tying for 64, Briana Ripke with a time of 32:56 placeing 74, Jade Vogel with a time of 35:29 placing 78, Estee Arend with a time of 36:49 placing 79th.

Indiana’s NewsCenter has a dynamic and exciting program to bring recognition to our school. It is called The Golden Apple Award. It is designed to show how teachers are changing young people for the better every day. Indiana’s NewsCenter is looking for nominations from students in the form of a short letter no more than 100 words about your favorite teacher and why you feel they should be the recipient of the monthly Golden Apple Award. The purpose of this award is to reward outstanding teachers and schools that allow teachers to flourish.
An outstanding letter will be selected every month, and Indiana’s NewsCenter will visit the school with a very simple award ceremony. The teacher beign recognized and your school will be featured on two Indiana’s NewsCenter newscasts in a very positive light that illustrates the good work being done in education today.

Presale tickets for Friday night's football game at Jefferson will be on sale during lunch on Thursday and Friday. Prices for the tickets are $4 for students and $5 for adults. All tickets at the gate are $6.
Student Council is selling class T-Shirts for homecoming again this year. Each shirt will cost $11. Shirts are displayed in the commons area for each class.
