Zachary Arend, a 2006 PHS graduate, was fatally injured in the tragic accident involving the Bluffton University

Zachary was critically injured in the tragic accident involving the Bluffton University baseball team.

The Arend family is overwhelmed with the support and kindness that has been flooding in ever since news of the bus accident in Atlanta broke. For those of you who do not know Zachary personally, here is a little bit about him. Zachary is the oldest of four children, being big brother to three sisters. The Arends are a closely knit family that has strong beliefs in family and church. Zachary is strong, athletic and loves the outdoors, spending many hours wandering the woods and fields surrounding his family's farm.

From the time Zachary was a little boy, he has been absolutely crazy about baseball. He graduated from Paulding High School in 2006. He was a good student and was recruited by Bluffton University to play ball for the school. It was a real honor for Zachary to be chosen as a freshman to travel with the team for spring training and a tournament.
