Robert Beck
Bob Beck has worked for the Paulding Exempted Village Schools in several capacities since 1960, when he began driving bus routes and athletic trips. In 1966 he was employed to fire the coal boilers, which led to a job as custodian which he retired from in 1983.
For nearly 38 years Bob has been an integral part of the athletic programs, working behind the scenes. He has been responsible for laying and striping the football field, selling tickets at athletic events, managing concession stands, cleaning the gym after games, helping score at events and doing all types of maintenance at the athletic facilities.
He was also the recipient of the Paulding Education Association "Friend of Education" award for his dedication to the Paulding school district.
Bob recalled that one of the most memorable events was the Bluffton and Paulding football game when Paul Miles played for Paulding. He recalled seeing people standing around the entire field in what may have been Paulding's largest crowd.
Bob resides in Paulding with his wife Ellen of 58 years. They have 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
