Alan Woodard

Alan W. Woodard graduated from Paulding High School in 1983, having earned three varsity letters in track, in the shot and discus events, two in basketball, and three in football.
In Track, Alan was team captain his senior year, and a member of the 1983 NWC and district championship teams.
Alan earned two varsity letters in basketball and was selected to the NWC first teams his senior year, and selected as the team MVP. Alan is third in career field goal percentage and led his team in field goal percentage his junior and senior years.
In Football, he was selected to the NWC first teams as an offensive and defensive lineman his senior year, and to the Northwest district second team offense, along with all-state honorable mention honors.
Upon graduation Alan attended the University of Toledo where he played football for one year. He returned to Paulding and earned a degree in Education from Defiance College in 1992.
Alan coached junior high football and track at Paulding from 1986 to 1988, kept score books for girls varsity basketball and boys varsity basketball from 1991 to 1998. Alan died from cancer at the age of 34.
He was an avid supporter of the athletic programs at Paulding Middle School and High School.
